Social media is absolutely junk food for your brain.
If you were to consume junk day in day out, what happens?
We are at a crossroads technological and societal between utopia and dystopia.
We are losing out to technology, humans are now part of the machine. We’ve all accidentally signed up as volunteer data inputters to the big Ai in the sky served by algorithms that use our personal information to continually feed our attention.
As you know I’m ONE year in now, of consuming no junk news.
My life is a whole lot better because of it and truth be told so would yours.
In years to come social media will likely be regarded as the asbestos, smoking of our generation.
Like me taking myself off the news, I also reckon my Real Life (tm) would absolutely be more enriched without social media.
But like you, I’m an addict.
A digital one.
We can of course give up at any point, it’s easy, after all we’ve all done it, loads of times….
Maybe it’s time to take control of your time and digital diet, prioritise nourishing your mind not with Panda on rocking horse memes, but with a good book.
Our over consumption of social media absolutely does have negative impacts on our mental and emotional well-being, leading to a distorted sense of reality and disconnection from the present moment.
The way addicts go about beating their addiction is the first step of accepting they have a problem.
How about you?
Do you have a problem?
Ps: You do consume junk. Daily.
Pps: Be sure to like, comment and share etc etc.
PPs: Then go for a nice walk in a park. Leave your phone behind, I double dare you.
Ppps: Case in point. I just spent 30 mins writing this “content” why? I’m a fcking idiot. 🤣
Pppps: Uses 🤣 emoji to normalise / laugh it off.
Ppppps: Right I’m off to real world gym to think about my digital life choices.
